The real vehicle, briefly
The Kangaroo was a Canadian improvisation. After heavy infantry losses in Normandy, Lieutenant-General Guy Simonds of II Canadian Corps had surplus M7 Priest self-propelled guns stripped of their 105mm gun so they could carry infantry. The RCEME Museum records that a roughly 250-man workshop near Bayeux, led by Major George Wiggan, had 72 ready by the evening of 5 August 1944 and four more by noon on the 6th, each able to carry 10 to 15 soldiers. They were first used in Operation Totalize in August 1944, and The Canadian Encyclopedia notes casualties were significantly lower among the infantry carried in them. Later Kangaroos were converted from Ram tanks and Shermans.
Build plan
Wash and check the parts
Resin and metal kits can carry mould release. Wash the parts in warm soapy water, let them dry fully, then check them against the contents list and assembly guide before you cut or file anything.

Trim casting vents and flash with a sharp hobby knife and file mould lines on the metal parts. Sand resin wet, or wear a dust mask, because resin dust shouldn't be breathed.

If a thin resin part has warped, dip it briefly in hot (not boiling) water, straighten it, and hold it under cold water to set. Keep fingers clear of hot water.

Plastic cement doesn't work on resin or metal, so use superglue (cyanoacrylate). For heavy metal parts, drill a small hole in each side and pin them with a bit of wire for a stronger joint.

Warlord lists a pintle-mounted heavy machine gun. Dry-fit it and decide where it sits before you glue anything, since metal parts are heavy and hard to reposition once superglue grabs.

Commonwealth vehicle green over a dark base, with a muddy lower hull for Normandy in August 1944. Check what the decal sheet includes before you plan markings. Canadian vehicles carried formation signs and unit serials; check photos of the unit you want to represent.

Gloss-coat the decal areas, apply the decals with a setting solution, then seal everything with a matt varnish before weathering.
